Alongside visits from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance of the UAE, and former French President François Hollande, IFFEN welcomed HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Founder and Chairmen of WETEX. IFFEN was able to share with HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer our vision for advancing renewable energy through trainings and education, a mission which aligns with Dubai and the United Arab Emirates’ extensive and accelerated growth and development.
The United Arab Emirates has committed to keeping clean and renewable energy central to its future, with a target of 30 percent clean energy power generation by 2030, and 75 percent by 2050. Over 1 billion USD has already been invested in energy projects around the world.
The significant investments being made in renewable energy must be met by a capable, skilled workforce able to meet the demand for trained engineers. This is where IFFEN comes in, and we are excited to continue bringing what we’ve learned from a decade of technical trainings in France to the United Arab Emirates, as we have been for more than five years.
IFFEN’s educational virtual reality platform expands this potential further, opening up more efficient trainings, and creating possibilities for new training approaches and modules with the ability to be customized and extended based on the needs of enterprises.
